Finally after 3 years it was possible to hack the Sony console to copy games (backups) of the same so you can run them directly from it. The Jailbreak was submitted by a group of programmers on a USB stick that allows games to load copies of themselves (it is illegal to run pirated games) on the PS3.
The PS jailbreak apparently contains a sort of Backup Manager can read copies of games stored on the hard drive or an external console and run them.
The Ps Jailbreak does not require internal modification of the console as it is a hardware and software combo that makes you believe the PS3 is a console development and therefore allows you to run unsigned code from its internal hard disk or one external.

PS3 Developer Notes:
Mathieulh: PSJailBreak, the "Backup Manager" (which is almost the only one available for download on their website) is a debug package that includes a regular fself compiled with the (private mass filtering) 1.92 sdk, the package itself is generated with the official Sony SDK tool (review Make_package_npdrm 1203 probably from the same SDK) that makes it illegal to share, since I'm pretty sure psjailbreak staff is not properly licensed to use the official SDK for Playstation 3 and its tools.
binary itself seems to use the API of common scenarios when it comes to GUI or copying files. It does run in a debug console and displays a "very well" made GUI that allows you to "back ups" of their game or USB external hard drive and "run" them later.
say that the backups are usually "run" as his "backup manager" is just a regular fself run with privileges of the game and not to use any exploitation that comes to mind. Needless to say that if your USB dongle is called real (which I doubt) that makes extensive use of leaked Sony software and keys and certificates.
I have not tried, but looks set to copy the game on a debug PS3, but not decrypt the executable ... well, it's basically a big "copy dev_bdvd / * HDD0 / *" for lack of a better term.
